Hello!  I’m Jennifer White – a 56-year old career woman who has been happily married to my husband, Al, for 27 years.  For half of our marriage, I have been caregiving for Al who has survived cancer, kidney disease, heart problems, back surgeries, diabetes and more.  Al has been on peritoneal dialysis for 13 of those years and has limited movement due to the extensive pain that he lives with every day.  There have been many surgeries where I thought Al wouldn’t make it but I have learned that the strength of the human spirit (Al’s and mine together) enable us to not just survive, but actually thrive through adversity.  The true focus is on commitment.  It is choosing NOT to bail out of caregiving and my marriage.  I’ve learned many things about thriving through caregiving and I’m here to help others who are in similar circumstances to move past anger, resentment and guilt, and instead to move into acceptance, joy, and most importantly, love.
